The Go Gree Club is a recycling club for Camino Real Middle School students. After school every Tuesday and friday a couple of students stay after school to pick up the trash through the whole school. They also go to all the teacher's rooms to get the recycling bin. People actually used to taunt them and call them trash pickers and throw trash on the floor on purpose! So they had to change it to after school. It's very small but they want to build it up and enter competition. If anyone wants to join they have Awareness Meetings in the morning. You can see Mrs. Carpenter in room 443.

Spelling Club
by Dennis Ray Duran Jr.
The spelling club meets after school until 5:00 every other Tuesday. At the spelling club, they practice for the spelling bee and play board games like Scrabble. If you would like to join, you just show up at room 549. The spelling club started this year. There are only five students in the club at the moment.
It is not too late to join the spelling club. The spelling club hasn't been in a spelling bee yet but hope to make it to State. The first match will be in December. If you join now that will still be enough time to learn all the words you need to know.
Only two kids are allowed from Camino may go to the district spelling bee.

Battle of the Books
by Saul Alvarado
Battle of the Books is a reading competition for anyone in Las Cruces Public Schools. This is a school funded program that draws students together who enjoy reading books. Mrs. Wallace is the club advisor. Book warriors meet every Thursday at 8:15 AM in the library. They compete at Highland Elementary School and Onate High School. The winners will advance and go out of town to compete with others. Battle of the Books is cool and if you join, you can meet new people. Every student is a winner but the top three readers will get medals.
